The short version

We supply replica medals and mounting services from Brisbane. Nothing here takes away the guarantees you have under Australian Consumer Law. Mounted, engraved and made-to-order work cannot be returned for change of mind. If you send us your own medals, we treat them with the care they deserve and tell you exactly how that works below.

About these terms

These terms apply to your use of this website and to every order you place with Rogaloff Militaria, a business of Rogaloff Trading (AU) Pty Ltd, ABN 37 128 621 830, of Brisbane, Queensland. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Rogaloff Militaria, and "you" means the person using this website or placing the order.

By placing an order you accept these terms. We may update them from time to time; the version in force is the one published when you place your order, identified by the version number and date at the top of this page.

Our Privacy & Cookies policy forms part of these terms and explains how we handle your personal information.

Using this website

  • You may browse, search and order for your own personal or business purposes.
  • You may not scrape, copy or republish our catalogue, images or descriptions, or use automated tools to extract data from the site.
  • You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, our systems or another customer's account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account password secure and for activity carried out under your account.

We work to keep the site available and accurate, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site, or any product, at any time.

Our products

We describe and photograph our products as accurately as we can. Because many items are struck, woven or hand-finished, small variations in shade, finish and dimensions occur between production runs and between what you see on screen and what arrives. Ribbon in particular may vary slightly in colour between batches.

Where you are matching new ribbon or medals to an existing set, tell us before you order and we will do what we can to match from current stock. We cannot guarantee an exact match to material produced years earlier.

Weights, sizes and other measurements are approximate unless stated otherwise.

Replicas and lawful use

Unless a listing expressly states otherwise, the medals and decorations we sell are replicas. They are supplied for commemorative, ceremonial, display, theatrical, educational and collecting purposes, and for wear by descendants and family members in the customary manner.

Australian law restricts the wearing of service decorations in ways that falsely represent entitlement, and similar restrictions apply in other countries. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of anything you buy from us is lawful in your jurisdiction and consistent with the conventions that apply to it.

We may decline or cancel any order where we believe the items would be used to misrepresent entitlement or otherwise unlawfully. This is at our discretion and we are not obliged to give reasons.

Orders and acceptance

Your order is an offer to buy. A contract forms only when we send you an order confirmation or dispatch the goods, whichever happens first. An automated acknowledgement that we have received your order is not acceptance.

We may decline an order, or cancel it after acceptance and refund you in full, where:

  • the item is out of stock or has been discontinued;
  • a price or description was listed in error;
  • we cannot verify your payment or delivery details;
  • the order appears fraudulent or is for resale in breach of a trade agreement;
  • supply would be unlawful or would breach an export restriction.

Prices and GST

Retail prices shown on this site are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable. Trade prices shown to logged-in wholesale customers are shown on the basis stated on the wholesale pages.

Prices may change without notice, but a change will not affect an order we have already accepted. Where an item is listed at an obviously incorrect price, we will contact you before proceeding and you may cancel for a full refund.

Delivery charges are additional unless stated, and are shown before you complete checkout. Orders shipped outside Australia may attract customs duty, import GST or handling fees in the destination country. Those are payable by you and are not included in our prices.

Payment

We accept the payment methods shown at checkout, which currently include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Afterpay and direct bank deposit. Payment is processed by our providers under PCI DSS; we do not see or store your full card number.

Where you pay by Afterpay or another instalment provider, your arrangement with that provider is separate from your contract with us and is governed by their terms. We are paid in full at the time of purchase.

Goods remain our property until we have received payment in full. Made-to-order work will not begin until payment has cleared unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

Delivery and risk

We dispatch from Brisbane. Delivery timeframes shown at checkout are estimates provided by the carrier and are not guaranteed. Mounting and made-to-order work adds to the timeframe; we will tell you the expected turnaround when we confirm your order.

Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery to the address you gave us. Please give us an address where someone can receive the parcel. We are not responsible for loss occurring after a carrier has delivered to your nominated address in accordance with your delivery instructions, including where you have authorised the carrier to leave a parcel unattended.

If a parcel does not arrive, tell us promptly so we can lodge an enquiry with the carrier while it can still be traced.

Made-to-order work

Court mounting, swing mounting, ribbon bar construction, decal artwork, engraving and cut-to-length ribbon are made or finished specifically for you. Once work has begun these items cannot be returned or exchanged for change of mind, because they cannot be resold.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you give us: the order and precedence of medals, spelling of engraved text, sizes and quantities. Check your confirmation carefully. If you spot an error, contact us immediately and we will amend the order if work has not yet started.

This clause does not affect your rights if the work is faulty or not as described. See Returns and your rights.

Items you send us

Where you send us original medals, ribbon bars or insignia for mounting, remounting, repair or framing, the following applies.

  • Record on arrival. We record what we receive and its condition. Tell us in advance what you are sending and include a list in the parcel.
  • Send them safely. Use a trackable, insured service. We cannot accept responsibility for items lost or damaged in transit to us.
  • Insurance. Tell us the replacement value of original or irreplaceable items before you send them. Our liability for items in our care is limited to the value you have declared to us in writing.
  • Existing condition. Older medals, ribbon and suspenders may be fragile. Remounting can reveal or worsen existing wear. We will tell you if we think work carries a risk before proceeding.
  • Return. We return completed work by trackable insured post at your cost unless agreed otherwise.

Uncollected items: where work is complete and we have been unable to contact you or obtain payment, we will make reasonable attempts to reach you at the contact details you provided. If items remain uncollected after a period of twelve months from that notice, we may dispose of them in accordance with the law applicable in Queensland and apply the proceeds to amounts you owe us.

Returns and your rights

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.

In addition to your legal rights, we accept change-of-mind returns of unused stock items in original condition within 30 days of delivery. Return postage is at your cost, and we will refund the purchase price once we receive the item. This does not apply to made-to-order work as described above.

To start a return, contact us with your order number and the reason. Please do not send anything back before we have replied, so we can tell you where to send it and log it correctly on arrival.

Trade accounts

Wholesale and trade customers order under our separate Wholesale Terms & Conditions, which set out tier pricing, minimum orders and account conditions. Where those terms conflict with this page, the wholesale terms prevail for trade orders.

Trade pricing is confidential and provided for your business use. It may not be published, shared or used to supply a third party as a means of passing on trade rates.

Intellectual property

The design, layout, text, product photography and artwork on this site are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute or use them commercially without our written permission. Reselling our images to list the same goods elsewhere is not permitted.

Where you supply artwork, text or images for a custom order, you confirm you have the right to use them and to allow us to reproduce them for that purpose.

Crests, badges, unit insignia and national symbols reproduced on our products remain the property of their respective owners and are used to identify the item depicted.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to that, and to the extent permitted by law:

  • our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee is limited, at our option, to replacing or repairing the goods, resupplying the services, or paying the cost of doing so;
  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profits or loss of opportunity;
  • our liability for items you have entrusted to us is limited as set out in Items you send us;
  • we are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including carrier disruption, supplier failure, natural disaster or government action.

This clause is written to sit alongside the Australian Consumer Law rather than to displace it. It is one of the clauses most worth confirming with your own adviser.

General

  • These terms, together with your order confirmation and our Privacy & Cookies policy, form the whole agreement between us.
  • If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
  • A delay in enforcing our rights is not a waiver of them.
  • These terms are governed by the law of Queensland, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
